Social media, according to Merriam-Webster are “forms of electronic communication (such as websites for social networking and microblogging) through which users create online communities to share information, ideas, personal messages, and other content (such as videos)” these includes Facebook, twitter,instagram, tiktok etc.

A lot of people have destroyed themselves because they believed one or two things they saw on social media which in most cases aren’t true. We see posts of people flaunting expensive cars, houses, phones, jewelries etc. which were gotten from unknown sources and some people think it was gotten easily.

This has made some people think they aren’t hardworking enough to achieve what their mates have achieved. Well,you should know that these people don’t post what they went through before getting to stage you see them post online. They only show the brighter side of it.

People display fake currencies online and you think they’re real and then you start wondering what you’re not doing right that hasn’t gotten you rich. We have people who borrow money to be sprayed at an event for the world to think they have made a lot of money from their event. If you believe it and host an event thinking you can achieve that without checking the caliber of people around you, you are on your own!!!. The owner of the money is still coming back to collect it after the party. Some will even go to the bank, withdraw their life savings to post on instagram saying they’re taking over the town. What a life!!!

We also have people who go to boutiques to try clothes and shoes on, take pictures of themselves while doing that and post online for people to think they also have designer wears and make you feel like a loser when in reality you are better than they are. Some people posts themselves in big hotels, displaying their extravagant lifestyle, eating expensive meals while in reality they don’t even have a room to their name .They call it packaging, Indeed !!!.

We have people who come online to tell us self made stories of how they bought cars and houses with their hard earned money and you begin to wonder if they make the money from their so called professions without telling us that there is one sugar daddy or mummy sponsoring their life style until they’re being exposed.

Underaged children are now involved in ritualism, cyber crimes because they want to use expensive items they see online instead of focusing on their studies for a better future. Youths in their early twenties now engage in abominable acts to acquire expensive materials to impress and oppress their friends.

What we see are mostly untrue but displayed in a way that makes it look real.The earlier we realize that people display fake lifestyle on social media the better for us.
